A Surfer's Wedding

My Buddy Mike (Digger) married Yesti on the sand at Ocean beach on December 26th. It was a cloudy day but the sun came out for the ceremony. It was a classic surfer's wedding with the groom in flip flops and Digger's friend who married them had surfed Maverick's just before the weeding.
It was a unique, very casual ceremony with a great group of friend's and family present to share in the magical moment.
Digger and I met surfing in Nias, a small island off of Sumatra, in 1997 (I think). Since then Digger has continued to travel the world and share with us his unique cultural observations in consistently entertaining emails.
The plan was to suit up and surf right after the ceremony. The surf was looking crazy and not very good so everyone opted to surf elsewhere or to give a pass completely. These photos make the surf look way better then they looked in person - making me wish we had given it a go.
